Meeting 1

NOVÝ JIČÍN
20. - 24. 10. 2025

The event Safe in the Mountains took place in MSŠ Šenov u Nového Jičína and focused on hiking, route planning, mountain safety and digital skills. The event was organized by the Czech applicant in cooperation with the Polish partner school, which actively participated in all activities. A total of 30 students and 4 teachers took part.

Before the visit, both partners cooperated on preparatory workshops in their schools. The teachers jointly prepared CLIL-based lessons on 3D design and printing using Tinkercad, as well as basic route planning tools. Students attended extra lessons to develop both technical skills and English vocabulary.

The first day was dedicated to arrival, team-building activities and an introduction to hiking and route planning activity in Google Maps and Mapy.com. On the second day, a professional workshop on mountain safety was delivered by the Czech mountain rescue service directly in their venue in Pustevny. Students learned about risk prevention, proper equipment and emergency procedures and then climed to Radhošť mountain.

The third day focused on a 3D printing competition, where international student pairs designed and printed practical tourism-related objects, such as personal safety key tags and small promotional items. we also had a competition on route planning and selfie race in the town. On the fourth day, students applied their prepared routes to Velký Javorník mountain, testing their planning in real conditions. The final day was dedicated to evaluation, sharing experiences. Both partners shared responsibilities and supervision.
